Jackdaws - Ken Follett

Jackdaws - Ken Follett

Jackdaws is, quite frankly, a forgettable, cliche-ridden spy novel about a female special-agent team whose mission is to blow up a key telephone exchange in 1944 France. Follett wields the Holocaust like a sledgehammer to remind us why we should hate the Germans, without actually giving us any reason why the British are any better. The switching back and forth between the British heroine Flick and the German officer Dieter is annoying, and the violence is brutal. It might be more interesting to those who like spy novels, but for me it was barely entertaining.
