The Silmarillion - J.R.R. Tolkien

Re-read for my annual Tolkien Reading Marathon.

Some things:

Melkor is angry about when Fingolfin stabbed him in the foot. Never spotted that before.

Cried at "Farewell sweet earth and northern sky". Tolkien's books continue to amaze me by how they change depending on my circumstances (viz. missing my boyfriend away at uni, thus particularly susceptible to parting lovers, etc., etc.)

Beren and Luthien are badass as always.

The Kinslaying is bloody awful. Why, Feanor, why?

On to The Hobbit!
